Hi team! We here at Awesomeness International are finally dusting off the last of the festival and rubbing our bleary alcohol drenched eyes after the NZ International Comedy Festival. We had a glorious time and are now plotting and planning next year's festival. We were stoked to be nominated for Best Marketing Campaign, and relieved not to have won it, as one of the 12 wines I had had clearly was dodgy and I was having a little trouble forming sentences. Chris Brain won Spirit of the Festival Auckland, which made us all very happy, it was a long slog for him and we were very proud to be involved with his show and him.
Mr Boon had such a good time out of the classroom and in the theatre we are planning a slightly earlier return to the stage for him, we will keep you posted. And the guys from the Cryptid Factor are still trawling Trade Me for a land rover to drive down to Fiordland to find the moose in between doing their weekly radio show on BFM (Sunday 9 - 11am). Yep, I am still encouraging that bullshit. Corbett and Ego are spewing forth hilarity on 7 DAYS every Friday night on TV3 at 10pm after Rhys is on Radirahdirah. Chris Brain will be returning to our online series THE ONEFORTY soon. And after a successful season at his very first NZ festival Jarred Christmas is soaking up the sun and whanau back in London and writing new material just for us (and others).
For up to the minute updates on the lives of Awesomeness then follow www.twitter.com/rosiecd (that's me) or www.twitter.com/rhysiedarby (that's him) or www.twitter.com/cryptidfactor for all your urgent cryptozoology news (that is Rhys and David Farrier). And for a laugh follow www.twitter.com/chris_brain. He's funny.
Part of our aim with Awesomeness International is to work with people we think are funny, making funny TV. Check out the videos section for the first in a weekly vlog by Chris Brain called The ONEFORTY. Chris will muse on the state of the world for 140 seconds. Anyone who has seen Chris' standup knows what a bloody hilarious man he is and we are very excited about seeing new funnies from him every single week!"
Tickets go on sale this week for our 6 NZ International Comedy Festival shows. A special pre- pre sale for The Cryptid Factor Live show is happening for one hour only on Monday March 1 from 1pm to 2pm. Just call Ticketek (0800 Ticketek) and quote Mongolian for a chance to purchase these tickets. If you don't know the relevance of Mongolian's to Cryptid you should definitely buy tickets, you might just learn something!
Book for some shows through Ticketek and some through the Edge, all very confusing, but check the calendar for details on where to book for which show.
See you there!"
